Annual 20/20 Lecture Series

Friends of Raynham HallPlanting Fields Foundation logo The annual 20/20 Lecture series takes its name from the street addresses of its original co-sponsors. The Oyster Bay Historical Society is headquartered at 20 Summit Street in Oyster Bay, NY. The Raynham Hall Museum is located around the corner at 20 West Main Street. In 2003, the series added a third co-sponsor: The Planting Fields Foundation in Oyster Bay.

The series comprises three monthly talks, starting in March. The talks focus on history, Long Island, and, of course, Oyster Bay. In a recent series, Andrew C. Batten, former Director of the Raynham Hall Museum, delivered the April lecture . His talk formed the basis of Long Island's Loyalists: The Misunderstood Americans, published in our Freeholder magazine. Read the talk and you'll understand the popularity of the 20/20 series.

The speakers and topics for the current series are described in our Calendar of Events. The talks are held at 7:30 pm on Tuesday evenings at the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Public Library (seen at right), 89 East Main Street, in Oyster Bay. Note the new time and location. Admission is free, and refreshments are available at the close of each lecture.
