[General release given to Elizabeth and Walter Franklin by Laetitia Jane and Darling B. Whitney on the death of Townsend U. Franklin. 1860.]

To all to whom these Presents shall come, or may concern,

GREETING:

KNOW YE, that We, Laetitia Jane \/Vhitney, wife of Darling B. Whitney, and the said Darling B. Whitney, of the town of Oyster Bay, County of Queens and State of New York, for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar lawful money of the United States of America, to us in hand paid by Elizabeth Franklin and Walter Franklin of the same place, personally, and as administratix and administrator of all and singular the goods chattels and credits which were of the late Townsend U. Franklin deceased have remised, released, and for ever discharged, and by these Presents to, for ourselves our heirs, executors and administrators, remise, release, and for ever discharge the said Elizabeth Franklin and Walter Franklin, personally, and as administratix and administrator as aforesaid heirs, executors and administrators, of and from all, and all manner of action and actions, cause and causes of action, suits, debts, dues, sums of money, accounts, reckonings, bonds, bills, specialties, covenants, contracts, controversies, agreements, promises, variances, trespasses, damages, judgments, extents, executions, claims and demands, whatsoever in law or in equity, which against them or either of them we ever had, now have or which our, or either of our heirs, executors or administrators, hereafter can, shall, or may have, for, upon, or by reason of any matter, cause, or thing whatsoever, from the beginning of the world to the day of the date of these Presents.

In Witness whereof, we have hereunto set our hands and seals the tenth day of March in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and sixty
